The Chinese artist-turned-activist Ai Weiwei had his studio torn down by authorities on the 11th. He was the art consultant for the Beijing National Stadium built for the 2008 Olympics, and currently the Tate Modern Turbine Hall is exhibited his work Sunflower Seeds.

It seems that part of the controversy between Ai and the Chinese government stems from a series of documentaries that he created, but no one knows exactly what he has done to upset authorities.
